Kado no Mise

Having travelled to Japan for many years on business, I've come to expect a certain \American style\ Japanese food when dining in the US, but this meal was better than any I've had in the US and better than many that I've eaten in Japan. Do yourself a favor and order the tasting menu which is served at the sushi bar. We were wowed by the freshness of the fish and the chawanmushi was divine....I would drive the 5 hours to Minneapolis just to eat this again. Absolutely stunning!

Everything Kado no Mise does is top notch. From our pre-Covid visits when we enjoyed the spectacular service, delicious food, and well designed and decorated interior spaces to during Covid when we have consistently been picking up take out, but receive the same beautiful presentation and attentive quality service. Can't wait to come back and enjoy a highball at the bar, but until then we will keep supporting Kado no Mise so it is there on the 'other side'. A true standard of quality on every level, we are lucky to have Kado in our hometown!

Kado no Mise is hands-down the best sushi and traditional Japanese food I’ve ever had in Minneapolis. We recently had the privilege of doing the omakase dinner, which was absolute perfection, worth the high price tag (especially when you consider how difficult it must be to get some of the fish and ingredients.) I’m also continually impressed by the hospitality of their staff.

First time visitors and sooo happy to have had this experience. Service was wonderful and everyone was friendly. Times are hard/different but they have inventive ways to make your dining experience feel smooth. The outoor atmosphere is nice and feels like somewhere overseas! Their little details are impeccable. They have specialized ice stamps that they use for the delicious cocktails. Very neat.
