Booked a table for 7.30 arrived 20 mins early so asked if we could sit outside as it was a lovely night took our order for food at 7.15. We were still outside at 8 o'clock still no food so we asked if we could sit inside cos it was getting chilly they let us have a table inside but it was half past eight before we got our meal we complained and the excuse was we didn't think it was gonna be busy so only got 1 chef on simply not good enough we will never go there again

Unfortunately after waiting for almost 1 hour, the \ home made steak pie\ was nothing more than a dish of pie filling with a puff pastry lid cooked on top, so not as advertised on the menu !. A pie traditionally has a pastry lid and base, or enclosed in pastry. The staff offered no reason or apology for the delay.
Big menu. Nice bar staff. Tasty food.
Cosy, good price. Great food with generous portion sizes
Really good stop off for traveling from/to Whitby from the Yorkshire Moors. Quiet location with good pub grub
