I can't recommend this highly enough. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day here. Jo is an excellent teacher. The course is relaxed, perfectly paced and easy to follow. You learn quickly, that any mistakes (I made plenty!), are easily corrected, and this builds confidence. The day just flew by.

I booked a mornings Blacksmithing with Jo as part of a birthday gift for my wife, she’d always fancied giving it a go! I found Jo online and loved the sound of the course and it really did not disappoint!!! Jo is a lovely chap, warm and welcoming from the off and really is a perfect teacher. He explains things in a very straightforward manner making it very easy to understand and know what you’re supposed to be doing, which means you get to experience a load of different blacksmithing techniques in a short space of time. We made an awesome toasting fork each which at the end of the experience Jo polished up for us and we got to take home. I can’t recommend this course enough, if you’ve ever fancied giving it a go, look no further then Jo the Iron!!! Cheers Jo!! Many thanks, Rob and Elyza.

I spent a day recently with Joe on one of his one day courses. It was a blast! I would thoroughly recommend! He is a great teacher who makes you feel safe and secure and yet able to quickly get to hammering a lump of red hot steel into something useful! A great escape and stress beater in these strange times! Thanks Joe!

Just completed a one day course, received as a birthday gift. Jo is a very friendly and welcoming character who will make you feel at ease very quickly. He demonstrates what needs to be done in easy stages before letting you loose on your piece of work, only stepping in if he sees you need help. You will soon learn that what Jo makes look easy is a different story when you take over control of the hammer, but you will get there and complete your first work piece which you would not have thought you were capable of making at the start. The course is run at a pace to suit your level. The concentration levels are high, but if you are put off by thinking you need to be a muscle bound full back to survive the day then you'd be wrong. The pieces you will construct are impressively technically skilled, but can be achieved with delicate use of the tools rather than going hell for leather. As such I would suggest that the vast majority of people would be easily capable of undertaking the course as long as you listen to Jo and apply what you are shown. I presume for most of us who do not regularly engage in full time physical work that you will end the day as I did, tired but proud of what you have achieved and are bringing home to amaze friends and family with your skills. Thanks to Jo for making the day so enjoyable...
