Been driving by on the way home from work for years, recently noticed advertising on the outdoor sign - “Friday Fish Fry”. Finally picked up two dinners last night and brought them home. The fish tasted so fresh, I’d swear it was just caught on the Chain, filleted and cooked - right before I picked it up. *FIVE STARS* #thewayfishshouldtaste! Can’t wait ‘till next Friday...

Visited J & D;s on a Friday. The place was 1/3 full. We were seated and able to order drink straight away. In 10 minutes we had our food. Friday is their 10 all you can eat fish meal. The fish is sea bass, not cod, but wasn't bad, and one can order it four different ways. Re-fills on fish came hot and within minutes of asking for them. Our waitress was very motivated and quick to take care of her clients. In looking at 2020 Illinois new laws, I see no child changing station has been added to the men's restroom, and there's really no place them to put one up unless they do it in the handicap toilet stall. I will definitely come back again and try a different night with a different special.
Ordered food for pick up and they burnt our food, when we called to complain about it they said that’s how we ordered it. When we tried explain that a well done does not mean charred black, the guy on the phone hung up on us. We called back right away and no one answered. Called a third time to have the guy tell us they couldn’t do refunds and then he started yelling at us and hung up on us yet again. We went back to the restaurant to return the food and the guy wouldn’t even come out to speak to us so we could show him what we were talking about. All in all worse service ever, except the bar tender he was nice and very helpful.

Great food! Great prices! I had sirloin with shrimp combo and it was delicious. Hubby had full slab of bbq ribs that melted in your mouth. Terrific atmosphere and the service was spot on. Definitely going back. The hour ride is worth it!
