Amazing place! Regularly visit rather than other options in the area that are higher priced (Hyde Park and Ruth Chris) for the food that is honestly better along with a bit more relaxed atmosphere. Update: they have done an amazing job since the pandemic and I hope to visit again soon regardless of the health situation as I feel safe in their environment. This is a restaurant I would be sad to see fail due to the \COVID situation\.

Food and service was great. My mom and I got the jumbo crab cakes, mine is the plate with more yummy carbs. Would had wanted the carrot cake for dessert, but was stuffed.

This is our go to spot. Birthday, anniversary, found 50 on the ground on a random Wednesday, whatever excuse we can find. Creamed Corn. Pablano Potatoes. That’s all you need to know. The mains are great, but we only ever get the same things: Maple Plank Salmon and Kansas City strip. The service is fantastic. Bread is great. Lots of parking.

Amazing experience! The food was divine, the drinks were lovely. We had Charlotte as a server and she was absolutely wonderful! Funny, attentive really a great quality server. If I had a restaurant I would hire her 100% the atmosphere was so relaxing, warm and inviting. We will definitely be back!

First time visiting the restaurant, me and my husband choose J. Gilbert’s for a date night based on good reviews. Had to wait 15 minutes for our reservation so I had time to look around, please look up and you will see unbelievable amount of dust on the exposed beams... After seated asked the waiter for wine recommendations, his response was “well wine is wine, they are all the same”, obviously he was rushing and did not want be bothered. I ordered steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The presentation of the food was sloppy, mashed potatoes overtook the plate and looked like lake. It looked like the potatoes were the main dish, not the steak. I always enjoy a good meal and do not mind the price if taste was delivered, but for we got it was complete waste of money.
