A tiny museum dedicated to the preservation of the local White Snake, known as the Shirohebi. After the entrance to the museum they show you a quick video on its relevance in the area and why the snake was well respected in the past. You're able to see a few of the snakes held in captivity towards the end of the museum.

We enjoy visiting here. However, Covid has made some of the hands on activities inoperable.
Great view of the bridge and surrounding area. Photos of all the famous castles in Japan will make you realize how many amazing places there are to see aside from the most famous castles.
Interesting exhibit. Small museum but a lot to learn about the famous white snakes of iwakuni. Worth an hour of your time.
Lol at the one negative review on the front page being an American. Who goes to a Japanese museum expecting English? Shaking my head. Yes it is a very small museum but entry was not expensive at all, there's a cute little movie in the first room you enter, all in Japanese but you can get the gist of what the white snake is all about. My husband and I both love cultural stuff so maybe that's why we found this museum to be pretty cool.
