There is a butterfly room, a variety of species. All beautiful. The mesum has 4 floors, each with different activities to enjoy. There is also a movie room which plays short films about insects and flowers. Restrooms available, elevators as well. Wheelchair accessible. Museum shop with accessories for sale. It's a great weekend escape, maybe 3 hours is enough to hang out.
The main attraction of the \Insect Museum\ is the \Butterfly Farm\, which is a large hall covered by glass. There are hundreds of butterflies flying around and settling on wonderful flowers, which are beautifully arranged. Other parts of the museum were less interesting for me - these may be more interesting for families with small children.
Surrounded from a park the itami insectarium offer you a unique experience in the insect world. With a huge collection of insect from all around japan and the world. Is a great place to bring your child but is still really good for the growing up one. One of the best part of the experience is the walk throw the butterfly garden, where you gonna be surrounded from hundred of butterfly of different sizes and colours. Defenetly worth a visit if you are in osaka.
Great place, not too big but good to spend a day if you wish, big park around, better accessible by car, buses do not run often. The butterflies are worth seeing!
