I had a wonderful morning with Guide Abbie on a bird tour. It was peaceful and fascinating to learn about the different birds. Ended with a wonderful hot chocolate and pastry

It's hard to put into words what Elmley means to me. Beautiful cabins to stay in, a stunning nature reserve with so much to see throughout all the seasons, the sweetest staff who always go the extra mile for you. When I come to Elmley I feel rested, cared for and inspired. Arriving here feels like a long exhale. It's so special, and will always be one of my favourite places in the world.

I first came to Elmley reserve over 20 years ago and still use it occasionally. Ive only been to the hides a few times and generally use my car as a hide by driving slowly to the car park and back. You can see some great wildlife from the car. I like to take photos and i like birds of prey. Ive seen everything from a disheveled osprey in early spring to buzzards and the magnificent Marsh Harrier, you’d be unlucky if you didn’t see one. There is so much besides, i got some amazing evening shots of hare and the Little Owls and a Barn Owl. All in all a cracking place and you can always have a walk along the Swale sea wall.

A tranquil walk and despite being a seasonally low bird population there was a marsh harrier gliding to and fro, a multitude of butterflies and dragonflies along with lapwing, swans, mallard and pink footed geese.

Stunning scenery in this nature reserve. Plenty of birds to see. Tasty cakes, coffee and lovely staff throughout.
