Me & my beloved 6 year old lab-cross-retriver, Bailey, always have some lovely early morning hikes along the river & Island harbour area. One of my favourite things to do in life is to head out really early in the morning about 4am with my best buddy for a nice long walk when nobody else is around, and what with living pretty nearby @ Fairlee Rd, this is a lovely setting to head to. Being out & about around daybreak, just watching the sun come up while you stroll around, in total tranquility with my best friend, truly is heaven. It's like having the whole planet just to ourselves. Definitely worth getting up really early for & its the best part of the day without doubt. I always get some amazing views & pictures while stood there in total silence. Nothing beats it imo. From my home on Fairlee Road, across the fields, down the river, all along to the Island Harbour area and then The Folly Pub & then the return walk all the way back home again is about 7 miles in total. Just strolling at our own pace, with 2 or 3 stops for a breather en route, we usually do this walk in about 2 & half hours. By getting up & going out so early, we've had yet another beautiful morning's walk in such peace and quiet, we haven't seen a single person in all the time we've been out, and are back home before most people's day has even started. Something so simple, yet so rewarding.

Breeze closed, good coffeenormally. Walked into Newpirt on the path. Usual mix of walkers, dog walkers, runners and cyclists. Some cyclists appear to not know etiquette of slowing down and warning the are approaching from behind. Apart from that, lovely walking along the river.
Lovely roast dinner although the potatoes had a funny after taste. The kids play park was a huge hit with the kids. Very pleasant staff and customer service Would highly recommend
We stopped for coffee, hot chocolate and cake. Staff were lovely and friendly. The hot chocolate was amazing and the cake to die for. The outside play area was very clean and the seating area spacious
Nice relaxing place regardless of if you have a boat or not
