Many years ago, a wise king once called his wise men together and assigned a task to them. “I want you to compile the Wisdom of the ages for generations to come so we can leave it to posterity” The wise men left their king and worked for a long period of time. They finally returned with 12 volumes. The king, however, complained that “It is too long for people to read” Again, the wise men worked long and hard before they returned with only 1 volume. The king still had the same complaint and feared that no one would read it. The wise men reduced the volume to a chapter, then to a page, next to a paragraph and finally to a sentence. The King was absolutely elated when he saw the sentence. “Gentlemen”, he said, “this is truly wisdom of the ages.” The sentence was “There ain’t no free lunch in life!” And to earn our “lunch”, we need to be successful and have continuous progress in life. Life is all about progress. Our success in life depends upon our efforts and consistency.
