Quite average food, overpriced for the portion sizes of the entrees. Service was polite enough, but very slow. Paid 20 for 3 pieces of ravioli for the entree, which was not nice in my opinion. The lamb mains was okay, the meat was nice enough, but all the accoutrements were very clearly made to be pretty rather than tasty. Drinks reasonably priced, but overall wouldn’t go back.

I highly recommend The Cottage Restaurant, delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and very welcoming staff from the minute we walked in.

The cottage isn't cheap nor is it fast food. However it is a wonderful restaurant. The food is first class and the service impeccable. Had the Valentine's day 5 course dinner tonight and could find no fault. Well done to all involved.

Love this place My wife and I have been here a number of times and we always love it. The menu changes fairly regularly and always has some exciting new options. The mains are fantastic, but the dessert menu is just incredible, it's always a challenge to decide, because the options are just that good. All of this in the cutest heritage building, plus attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend

Beautifully crafted food. Incredible service. The main difficulty was choosing from among so many excellent options

The menu has a very good selection and all the dishes we selected were superbly cooked and presented. The sides of baby potatoes and greens were hot and served in heated bowls to retain the heat. The wait staff (for the non PC the waiters / waitresses) have obviously been well trained as they served each of us separately, no reaching over in front of anyone. The restaurant owner allowed me to bring zero alcohol beer and charged a nominal forking fee. We will definitely be going back. The finest dining Ipswich has to offer.

Service was very slow, but friendly. The food was Extremely Ordinary for supposedly Fine Dining !!! The flavour just wasn't there compared to other restaurants. The entrees - Duck pate and scallop linguini had no depth of flavours and we were very disappointed. We shared the Wagyu steak for 2 for main and while cooked how we asked, it was a very tough piece of meat, definitely not worth the 78 for it. As it had taken nearly 2 1/2 hours to have entrees and main we didn't wait for dessert. We were also shocked at being charged 8 for sparkling water. We are quite happy to pay for fine dining but unfortunately The Cottage is not that. We eat out often and had looked forward to trying The Cottage but we definitely will not be back.
