Excellent campground. We stayed in a tent for 2 nights. Our campsite was a decent size, and came with a picnic table. The washroom facilities had showers, sinks, toilets, but the women's washroom was apparently dirty. Just a minute walk away from an excellent beach with lovely warm water. Would highly recommend.

Located in a beautiful spot with a great beach, this campground is usually my go to. Tenting sites are mostly nice, but some have so many roots it’s hard to find a place to put a tent. Our site was a great size with flat ground, but had some garbage around from previous campers. This year the bathrooms were not cleaned often, the toilet paper ran out in most stalls and garbages were overflowing. No hand sanitizer in outhouses, which should be standard normally but especially during a pandemic. For the most expensive tenting spots around, the services are not what they should be. I hope to see some improvements next year.

Really nice experience. Says quiet time at 11pm, but some older gentleman named Gary hunted us down at 3pm in the afternoon and said the rule of thumb is that if you can hear the music from the road 2 meters from the campsite, then it's too loud. So not really sure if quiet time is at 3pm or 11 lol. Best scenery on cape breton island

Very expensive but worth the view! Our site was very slanted and not graded properly. Make sure to bring a tonne of blocking with you if you are staying on the top row. You will need every bit of it! 8 for a tiny bundle of wood. I suggest bringing your own! Be careful on your treck down to the beach. It is very slippery and the bushes crowd the walking area. The beach is beautiful once you are there. Campsites are clean! Ice is available in the office for 3. Staff was friendly. We stayed for 5 nights. We will be back again but will probably try a different area of the campground. Updated August 2020 - went for 3 nights with two other campers. We were told we had three sites together when we booked. Arrived to be told we were seperated. Meanwhile there was two empty sites on either side of one of our party. They told us they were booked solid all weekend and couldn't move us to be together. Clearly that was a lie. Made us pay for 50amp site when we didn't even want a 50amp site. Yelled us for leaving our garbage at the end of our site for them to pickup on their rounds. If you don't want to come and pick up the garbage up top they should maybe provide garbage cans then. Staff in the front office was very rude. Our site was filthy. Garbage on the ground, burnt food on our picnic table and cans in our firepit. For the price you pay you'd think you could at least get a clean site. 4 for a bag of ice is ridiculous. Been going here for 20 years. This was our final time. Other places on the island that treat you better!

Next to the skyline trail, this place has got to have some of the best views available. Little trail behind our site takes you up the cliffs. Saw whales in the morning breaching from up there! Amazing.

I stayed for 6 days in July, on site 84. Absolutely loved the park. The seasonal campers were super friendly which is unusual. I find they are clickish most of the time and don’t speak to the campers. The park was very clean and well maintained, peaceful and relaxing. It will be one of my yearly camping destinations

During our three week trip with RV in Nova Scotia this was one of the best campgrounds. We had site 86 with power, water and dumping and had a view on the ocean. Lots if free space to play. Quiet. Beautiful beach with little people and clear water is 200m away. If you can bring your own wood instead of paying 5 dollar for some sticks (like everywhere in NS). I met Mr MacLeod in person when I arrived and he was very friendly and open. There also is a playground for kids and a small shop.

What are previous reviewers thinking? Very fair pricing for where you are. You are overlooking a very large beach with mountain views -just look at these photos! Plus remember Canada has higher taxes than US. Staff was very nice and offered places to go, things to do, etc. There are a number on seasonals, so there will be neighbors on both sides. All are cordial and friendly. Centrally located to food, Cabot trail, etc. Washrooms are clean, water has good pressure and is hot. Showers are free. All of the campers/RV's are found together with no separation, but there is plenty on grassy areas to walk in addition to a large beach. Watch out: the last 2-3 miles are gravel into the campground. You may wish to disconnect any tow vehicle before the turn. The road is well maintained for gravel, but your car will get filthy. Love this place-a gem.
