Food is absolutely amazing from here! We have Indian from here every weekend. Best Indian we’ve had so far. The other reviews on here (anything over 4 months ago) was the old Indian Welsh Spice. It is now called Indian Spice with new owners. You definitely won’t be disappointed

My dish was rancid. It tasted like blue cheese. I think the cream was off. I wasn’t going to leave a review; we all make mistakes. We’re fairly easy-going and can't be bothered to make complaints. The girl on the front desk was great – we picked out 2 different dishes and I went to pick it up. Then it all went downhill. The chef has 0 customer service. He said there was nothing wrong with the dish – I was incredulous. I said to him: ‘you think that tastes good?’ and he nodded! Honestly, it was horrendous. I went back to their takeaway, was friendly to them, wasn’t awkward or anything as you might expect someone to have to go back because they had sold me gone-off food (we didn’t even get 5 minutes into The Meg!). Then to be met by a rude chef just ruined any future custom they would have had from us. If a customer says there’s something wrong, you say sorry and you definitely don’t tell them there is nothing wrong. Our first mouthful told us straight away something wasn’t right. We’ve both been chefs in the past and like to think we know our food. I was astounded at his rudeness and if he really thinks there was nothing wrong with that food, he shouldn’t be working in a kitchen. There wasn’t really any need for him to get involved: I’d spoken to the girl, organised an exchange. It was a collection, so why would I go out of my way for no reason? We even brought all the food back – we were not trying to get a free meal. The replacement food was ok, not great. Sauce, sauce, sauce and a couple of bits of chicken. It definitely wasn’t a takeaway we’d save for the next day. Free side salad was served in a doggie bag – it’s only a takeaway, not a restaurant, so you’d think they’d take a bit more care on their presentation. Welsh Spice has now alienated their customer. It was my first experience with them, and now, thanks to Chef Perfect, my last.
