I went back to the place my wife and I had our Honeymoon, 41 years ago on the 8th of October 79. A lot has obviously changed, but the memories are as fresh as ever. Some of the places we visited in Illfracombe are really awesome.

Fairytale lore, musical fountains, little shops, and filled with many curious things. Loved it, wish I had more time to explore more thoroughly. Would definitely visit again.
A fabulous fun family day out. Lots for the children to do and enough to keep the adults entertained. The views and the scenery are a delight. Getting in took too long and the restaurant wait for food was 40 minutes. The staff everywhere were helpful and enthusiastic. We would go again.
The Teacup cafe in the harbour is a Great place to stop off for coffee and cake or a warm scone with clotted cream and jam. Great cakes and they do a good lunch too. Well worth a try if you traipsing around the castle.
Watermouth Castle is a jewel in North Devon's crown for family days out. Packed with rides, attractions, gardens and an interesting main house you can easily spend a day here no problem. The staff are all on hand and very helpful. There is loads to keep kids of all ages entertained and it's also interesting for adults too! Best visited on fair weather days as much is outside.
