Ida is one of those little gems you have to know about, it’s situated at the corner of the Avenues and Kilburn Lane. Growing up Ida was this exclusive place where my parents went for their monthly date night, this little piece of heaven only a stones throw from our house. There was always this yearning inside that attracted me to its cute exterior and timeless interior. Only once as a kid did my feet cross the threshold but it’s somewhere I’ve never forgotten. For the first time since I young (age 6) I went for dinner with a friend, even as an adult Ida has been somewhere that’s effortlessly enticed me. This feeling only adds to the exceptional experience. The food here is impeccable, beautifully handcrafted by the adorable pair who have run it since the 1950s. The care and love taken in each aspect of the restaurant is felt through every interaction with its staff and beautiful menu. If you thought date night couldn’t get better you haven’t been here for an evening.
These guys are doing some take away snacks and mini Market atm. Popped by today and had their Arancini and sausage/courgette skewer. Literally the best arancini I've ever had and the sausage/courgette skewer was juicy and delicious. Definitely atop by here for a lockdown treat! They were also selling a great selection of pantry supplies and fresh pasta. Will definitely be back soon.
Ida is a good restaurant overall but not great. It has an authentic feel inside which creates a good atmosphere, it's small to be fair, easy to park after 6.30pm & book your table on their site, though for Vegetarians/Vegans it's choices are \very limited\ which is dearly poor considering the current times. It's very surprising too, not sure if they are Anti Non Meat/Fish/Dairy etc The quality of food/service is very good overall & presented well. I think overpriced for what you get in terms of the portions personally.
