I got my PADI OW certification here a few months ago and have had no regrets. I mostly have my instructor, Johannah (Jo) Durst, to thank for that. I came into the OW course somewhat skeptical, having only a few snorkeling outings under my belt. However, Jo has the ability to make you feel safe underwater, and it's hard to lose her when she is wearing her amazing pink crown hood! The OW course was an absolute blast and I quickly went on to doing my Advanced OW course. I can't wait to dive with Jo again soon and pick up some new specialties while having an amazing time.

I came upon the store by trying to find a good place for my friend to get her basic certification and finally settled on this place and have been happy ever since. She and I both liked the place so much we decided to buy our equipment there and even take a few more diving classes.

I signed up for their two weekend Padi certification class and had a really great experience! I found a deal on groupon (one weekend) so I had to upgrade the voucher. Rental gear is included in the package deal along with two open water boat dives (great locations)

My dive instructor in San Diego referred us to Ruth for guided dives in Catalina and I'm SO thankful that she did. Ruth is a PRO, with over 2,000 dives, she has an expansive knowledge of the dive sites and all the wonderful creatures we saw. After talking with her on the phone, I knew I would feel comfortable with her, and when she met us at the dive park I felt like we were already friends. This was our first dive outside of certification/refresher classes so we are complete beginners. Ruth was patient and went out of her way to help us navigate our rental gear and helped us with our buoyancy and weights. It was really cool that she was willing to help us become better divers, along with guiding us through the underwater kelp forest world. We visited with the most amazing animals down there (oh, the giant black sea bass!), and afterward she answered all the questions we had about the animals. Both dives were such beautiful experiences, and we felt safe and stress-free. We were originally thinking of signing up for a group tour with one of the local dive companies and really glad that we did private tours with Ruth instead. Totally amazing and will dive with her again next time!

First of all, Ruth is phenomenal! She was so patient with me (wont tell you how long it took me haha) but she was always there to ask \when are you ready for the next step?\ She was a great mixture of fun and professionalism and knew when it was time to get down to business. This goes unsaid, but don't keep her tanks standing and don't forget to breathe are the two biggest things I can advise anyone reading this
