Nice selection of magazines and even books for an independent retailer, but the overpriced sandwiches and snacks are a bit of a joke. The sandwiches are of the cardboard variety, and they sell ready made pot noodles for an extra 0.40 (is that even legal?), coffee is a bit grim: the guy in the hut on the platform is better if you want food and drink. The truly unforgivable thing imho though, is a minimum card spend: it’s not clearly advertised and it’s more than the cost of a cup of coffee or a snack. The prices are already steep (as we have come to expect at train stations, motorway services, and airports), and definitely steep enough to absorb this cost and still make a decent profit.

Fantastic range of magazine & newspapers, great selection of chocolates, drinks, crisps & various other snacks. Friendly staff and their Coffee is gorgeous and reasonably priced for such a lovely freshly ground coffee. Much better than the likes of Costa & Starbucks!! Great range of different coffees, syrups and speciality teas, unsure where the below reviewer has bought coffee from but surely can’t be here?!? Maybe the hut outside they mention which seems to get their water from a hose pipe near the public toilets... vile... As for the minimum spend it is only the same as many other places at 2.50... I realise Companies do have to pay for a card machine rental and accrue monthly charges for this to let their customers use the card facility... Will definitely visit Newstrack more often!!! 5*****
