Great, friendly family run Hotel with good rates. Large, clean rooms with towels provided, cable and WiFi, hot water when you need it with a Supermarket down the road, 5 minutes walk to Plaza del Armas and the centre. There is a kitchen and guests area and there is laundry service available at very reasonable rates. Super safe, I was on a cycling holiday in the Andes and there was no problems leaving the bike in the secure yard. La Cabañas is in a quiet area, you can walk about after dark. 5 minutes to the major bus companies, Linea and Cruz del Sur. Highly recommended to visitors to Huaraz, I couldn't fault it A****

Had a fantastic 1 month stay here as a trekker. The family that runs the place is very warm and welcoming. They were also very helpful in getting information for some of the hikes you can do. Cheap on-site laundry service. Fast internet. Hot water all the time. Cool rooftop. Nice quiet location but still only a 5 minute walk from the plaza. 5/5

Lovely place with reasonable prices and welcoming staff. Clean. Great location, walking distance from the center of town yet far enough to enjoy some quite and have a good night sleep. Great views from the upper balconies. A small common kitchen for guests. Hot water 24/7. Free wi-fi. They also offer laundry service and breakfast for additional charge. All in all great experience, highly recommended!

So I stayed one night and paid for 3. I couldn't close the door at my room and had to let it open. Also they change my room without my permission. Quite a lot for one night ...

Great place to stay at huaraz, run by a family and they are living at the same building. Why is that place great for travelers you asking : 1. Very quiet area, it's not at the center of the city, but don't worry everything is close also the transportation is very cheaper there . 2. Free Wifi. 3. Free washing machine. 4. Access to the Kitchen so you can prepare your meals by yourself. 5. It's can handle big groups . 6. Fair prices 7. One of the members of the family is Tourist Guide, so you don't need to check around about some Agency, just ask the old woman or her husband they will call him and pay your charge there . 8. Comfortable beds and TV , hot water 24/7. 9. There are small parking, you can park your motorcycle or what ever and it's close parking with security cameras . 10. Last thing is ... You can find many people from all over the world here .... When you make check on the book ..... Take a moment to see and check how's come and stay before you ..... People from all the world....

We stayed here back in November 2013 for a week and Doña Flor looked after us like a mum :) The labyrinthine building has 3 levels plus a loft and open deck up the top with stairs and paserelles cris-crossing the interior space. They have multiple rooms of multiple sizes from double/single to group rooms. There is a lunch/dining room with fridge and sundry, laundry, etc. and one can even venture to the family's living room and hang out with Doña Flor and her family. They are very nice and gentle and world savvy and cultured. The whole setup is very casual. The front gate is locked and you get a key so you can wander in and out as you wish. Huaraz is a biggish town and has lots of eateries and a massive market which we fully indulged in but that's another review. Cut the long story short, we enjoyed staying at La Cabaña. Affordable, clean and homely accommodation.
