Not what I had expected. Located in the new place strip, Bellaire Food Street. It was convenient to put in your order from the touch screen that was right by the door. There you can select which hot stone bowl you want and also select add-on items for an extra cost. It didn't take them too long to get each order ready. This place is more of a self-served place. Plenty of seats in the house. I went with the classic beef with pepper rice. The overall taste was mediocre. The rice tasted very salty. Beef was cooked fully through. It was just plain, nothing special that I was expecting. There's a few sauces on the table that I poured in and it somewhat made it better. The overall taste wasn't all too bad, I just didn't like the saltiness of the entire the dish.

They're really nice here, AND the food is good. The concept is cool too. Even if you just order water with your meal, they still make a point to keep it filled. They're very friendly.

That One Person

It was my first time here and the staff was very patient. The food was plentiful. What I had ordered (I believe it was the combo with 2 meats) was decent. My husband got the curry chicken karaage which was delicious! Their fries were amazing too.

I love Pepper Lunch. The eel pepper rice is my favorite. I peel up the egg and eel whenever it gets to my table and push down the rice so it gets crispy. It’s delicious. Service is great as well. Highly recommend.

The ordering takes me back to my trip to Japan. Before you walk in they have displayed in the window examples of the food so you can get an idea of what you would like to order. Then you walk in to a monitor display where you select, order and pay. Take your receipt, sit down and wait (our table of five and everyone got their meals within 10 min) Sizzling plates with great food like omg... I can’t wait to go back.
