Very large yet quite comfy. I came alone and really just wanted to chill and enjoy my smokes and drinks, which is exactly what I did. The parking was my only complaint because I am not able to walk long distances and I had to park a good distance and walk to the establishment. Also, the prices were a bit more than expected but the selection of smokes was more than adequate. I would definitely suggest this place just bring enough money.

This was the best cigar bar in Houston. A place that welcomed smokers, when the rest of the city shunned them. A place that provided cigar lovers the opportunity to socialize with anyone who enjoyed the same vice, no matter their social status. A place I called my second home. Sadly, this cigar oasis has fallen to the masses of political correctness, abandoning the clientele that made them great. On March 15th, 2014, they will close their doors to the Houston cigar community and join the endless list of boring, faceless bars. It truly breaks my heart that the owners of Downing Street would turn their backs on us. ***** UPDATE***** I owe the owners an apology. I just found out that the truth is the MEMORIAL HERMANN Breast Cancer Center on the second floor is forcing the landlord to terminate the lease for Downing Street if they don't stop allowing cigars! Apparently the MEMORIAL HERMANN doesn't believe in the freedoms of all people! A small corner of Houston, away from all of the “politically correct war mongers” in both Government and the private sector, where a cigar enthusiast can sit quietly with like minded people, to enjoy a drink AND a cigar. It's shameful that MEMORIAL HERMANN can bully the small business man around, ending a fifteen year history with the Upper Kirby family. FREEDOM FOR ALL... as long as you can afford it and it's politically correct...
This used to be a great cigar and whisky bar but since they went non smoking it completely sucks. It's empty and sad, with a big empty humidor reminding you of what you don't get anymore because some idiots complained. If the owner is smart he'll leave and start one elsewhere. Skip this place!
Great Business. Perfect place to unwind after a long day / week at work.
