I used to live near here. Nice place. Just needs a public loo and sheltered area. Nice feeding the ducks

The whole place, has a tranquil feel, cafe only serving through hatch at present but produce remains good. Having a few hours at the mere fed our souls some peace from the current madness
Fabulous little gem. Staff very polite & courteous. Knowledgeable about their food. Food exceptional for a cafe of it's size. Beautiful location. Will definitely return!
Hornsea mere is a lovely spot to visit. Some wildlife there and short trips around the mere on a boat. There is a shop and cafe. Cafe food and drinks are very good. Reasonably priced. Staff quite friendly. I am not sure if there are any public conveniences there. The Mere is suitable distance walk from Hornsea beach and sign posted.
Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake. A mere is a body of water wider than it it is deep, with no river feeding it. Water is from ground drainage. Beautiful place, the sun shimmering on the water and the sunsets are fabulous (gates close early evening). Whats at the Mere: Cafe Boathouse - hire and trips (see photos for what's on offer and pricing) Gift Shop Hornsea Sailing Club Water Fowl Reedbeds Mini Putting Green just past the Cafe (currently 3, pay at the Boathouse) Benches (memorial) to sit and relax Accessibility - long drive in, car park (gravelled and some slopes, people can be dropped off nearer the buildings). Accessible toilets in the Cafe. Cafe - decent range if good, be specific if vegetarian or vegan. See photos for current menu. Price range medium. Children's menu also available on the tables. Staff (in each business) - friendly. Toilets - in the Cafe
