Hook with Warsash Local Nature Reserve

What a lovely hidden gem. We had a great walk here. It has shingles path so no need for wellies! Also handy to know the car park has a toilet. A really beiatufulplace we saw lots if different birds too.

Tranquil place to go for a walk with great views across the River Hamble and adjacent nature reserve. Shingle footpath throughout so no need for wellies, and plenty of benches for a picnic or just to stop and admire the bustling river views. Warsash village is nearby with its pubs and local shops; additionally if you've more time to spare you can also pick up the kitsch bright pink passenger ferry over to Hamble with its cafes and yacht scene. Car park next to Passage Lane is free and there are public toilets on site as an added bonus. A nice place to while away a couple of hours.

Had a lovely walk alongside the estuary on the 'bunny meadows' trail, heading up from Warsash. Lovely views and the path was clear and easy to follow. We crossed over at the A27 bridge and attempted to take the 'strawberry trail' heading around and down to Hamble le Rice. Unfortunately there wasn't any decent signage for that route. We took a wrong turn that was a dead end. Someone helped us with directions but even then it was not very clear. Most of that route is beside roads as well. Luckily we made it to Hamble just in time to catch the penultimate pink ferry back across! In hindsight walking to the bridge and back again on the same bunny meadows path would have been a better plan but it was a good walk!
