One of my favourite cafes in Hull. They offer a consistent brunch menu and mains/dinner which changes depending on the availability of fresh produce. Just honest, quality ingredients. I'm a returning customer and always leave satisfied.

It was ok- when we first arrived we didn't know whether to sit down or wait. So we sat down. No one came over. I went to the food prep area and asked how it works there. A man (guessing he worked there) with his mouth full pointed to me where each menu is... so... me and my friend was stood up in the place... looking at the menus... as others was eating. I kinda felt abit awkward. Felt as if I was hovering over the other customers whilst reading the menus off the walls. The lady came over in good time to ask for our drinks.. then the food came.. my friend order some extra beans with her meal ... which came with kindey beans mixed within, which she doesn't like, so obviously she avoided them. I asked to swap my sautee potatoes for homemade chips which I received about 6. We left with not much satisfaction. Which is a shame because I've been recommended to go there. Maybe it was a bad experience for me. I don't know. But the man wasn't very welcoming... menus are in awkward places, no menus on tables just dotted around... Oh And someone was eating some sort of meat which f****** stank. I think it was beef but I've never smelt anything like it.
Came here for brunch, there is wide selection of food available to order the staff are friendly and informative. In addition to this there is a vast collection of games to play and books to read if you want. Lastly and most importantly the food; it is tasty and cooked well with portions generous and large. I would definitely reccomend this place!

Excellent food and service. Clearly a lot of hardwork and love has gone into the restaurant. Delicious food love the guardian writer cookbooks that are left out for us to read!
