Lovely new store, staff not very communicative. I do like home bargains though

Pretty standard layout and items to any other home bargains store. Small fresh and frozen food offering. Store is clean and well presented and the staff are happy enough in what they do. Plenty of car parking but can get very busy and a pain to get out of.
Everyone well distanced, staff very helpful, ques to a minimum. Not much gluten free bread in the day I called . The person at the checkout was very positive and pleasant.
Nice staff, I was in and out, and able to pick up everything I popped in for... Keep it up
Very disappointing directed to a different cue I was next but I went. Customer was waiting for an item by the time it arrived the two people behind me had left the store I was only buying 3 items 2 items were scanned last item was a bottle of gin cashier just sat looking around not saying a word after a few minutes I asked whats the problem answer I need the alcohol authorized only then did she press the call button, waited waited she kept saying they are coming nobody came told her I'll leave it this is how it went untill I said enough I will leave it. If your going to have supervisors authorise alcohol shouldn't they stay in view of checkout staff?
