Lovely church in the middle of the city. The newly built construction makes this church special. It is huge and breathtaking as you get closer to the building. Inside it is very impressive with the different pictures and the high decorated ceiling. It is strongly recommended to visit it at night cause the facade is well illuminated. There are great views of the city from that place.

One of the most beautiful churches which I have ever visited
You rarely see a newly built architecture that looks old because with technology you can generate the image on computer but there are no craftsmen with old techniques that can find the metarial to build it that way. But here it is. I don't know how they managed to do that but it can easily be centuries old and no one would ever question. Another thing that was born after Georgia/Soviet divorce. It is one of the largest buildings for worship and It is definitely huge for a building that was made by people's donations. The simple design and interior makes it easy on the eye and location helps it stand out and be seen from many places in Tbilisi.
The place is nice and worth a visit if you are in Tbilisi. I like this place, the cathedral is big and pretty. Make sure you comply with the required dress code (covered shoulders and knees and if you are a woman you must also wear a head scarf). Admission is free.

The Cathedral hosts most Orthodox Christian events and is a place of broadcasting of Christian events on Public TV. The Cathedral is located in an elevated hilltop of an old part of Tbilisi and overlooks the city. The Cathedral itself is visible from many central Tbilisi locations. A visit is highly recommended to understand the nature of Orthodox Christianity and the place of church in Georgian society.
