Cosy small restaurant on the barge. The food tasted amazing and service was also great. I had lamb rump and it was delicious - highly recommend

Had an amazing time with my boyfriend on this lovely boat in the centre of Belfast. The food was delicious and huge portions. The server named Mike (Michael) did his job at the best I've seen so far. Very professional and friendly mannered person who knows his job from A to Z. The view was lovely as well. I wish it to be less smelly and move on the water, but it's already another story ;) Well done guys!

Outstanding food and service. The Pan Boxty was phenomenal. Great service, great portion size and great price. Will definitely come back here when in Belfast next.

I - The place A lovely and cosy restaurant at the heart of a barge, resting quietly on the river. II - The Food and mood We approached Holohan's with simple expectations, as the menu we saw online was interesting but didn't seem to stand out particularly. This is where the cuisine and the products will speak the most, and they did. We particularly liked the fact that the room was well arranged with comfortable and cosy furniture, and loved our spot by the window despite the weather being capricious, as often. The staff was also extremely pleasant and efficient. The menu, compared to what we had seen online, was simpler but with interesting highlights. I like a short menu, and this looked like a good one. Albeit not being a huge steak person, I went for it as the preparation looked nice, while my partner took the pan-friend seabass. Both were excellent. The pan-friend seabass, particularly, was a perfect on all sides, from the mash to the cooking of the fish, the grilled corn, everything was where it needed to be and tasted exquisite. The butter on my steak was also really nice, and the cooking of the meat as I like it (which is a sacrilege for most, but I don't care). The dessert, a chocolate tart, was also the best dessert we had during the trip beyond the OX. As a side note, I saw their Boxty being served and I really, really want to try it one day as it looked really good and interesting. III - Anything special? A lovely and romantic setting, with a surprising cuisine that was better than I could have imagined. If you like fish, definitely try that seabass! IV - Verdict One of the best experience possible, when you don't expect much and you're more than pleasantly surprised. I would not hesitate to visit again the next time I'm in Belfast and get that Boxty. Highly recommended.

Good food, atmosphere and service. The Cosmopolitan cocktail was the best I've had in a very long time. Overall, it was lovely to enjoy the experience of dining on a barge but we wouldn't rush back.
