I really like Hole in the Wall however after visiting last Friday... Upon entering we were left waiting for 10 minutes before being greeted. Clearly under-staffed. Not 'allowed' to browse the bar due to social distancing, asked what gins they had and was told - a pink one and errrmm... Please coach your people, make sure there are enough if them to ensure a basic standard of service and please ensure they're enthusiastic. I know this is challenging in PPE, but please try!

The Hole in the Wall captures the feel of a classic pub very well. The decor and atmosphere fit in well with its location. The barman was able to recommend me just the right stout for my evening, and it was lovely to see a pub in Darlington stocking something more then ‘The Spoons Standards’. The food was good. Exactly what I would expect in quality from such a pub as this. I was well fed and watered for the price of my meal and pint. It was well worth stopping by.
Asked for a menu begining of December ordered hen house sharing board that was 22 Day of delivery I was charged 29 the board they sent was OK, (garlic kievs were overloaded with garlic) but different to the one on the menu they had sent me also I ordered the hen house as I don't eat red meat and the one they sent me had bacon on it I contacted them and they said they had a new menu to which they never informed me had changed also was never told about the 3 delivery charge Food was also late I had to chase it up! They said they would sort it out but heard nothing back Extremely poor and rude customer service this was my 2nd order from them and my last!
5 star place for food and drink. Great staff also
Great bar in the centre of Darlington which hosts fantastic Music nights. Good selection of real ales, craft beers and spirits. Great atmosphere. A great venue for Original live local bands.
