Hobro Museum is located in the centre of Hobro and near old church. In this small museum, located in charming old house, are presented two main exhibition: first concerning Modern Age (on ground floor) and second devoted to Prehistory and the Viking Age (first floor). On exhibition concerning Prehistory and early historical times, are presented captivating artefacts from Stone Age, Bronze Age (e.g. two stones with nice petroglyphs), Iron Age and fascinating artefacts which was found in and near fortress in Fyrkat. Above that in this exhibition are presented finds from unusual grave 4 from Fyrkat. In this grave in a wagon-body was buried woman who was equipped with inter alia bronze bowl, decorated bronze Gotlandic box brooch, two silver toe-rings, small silver chair (amulet?), silver pendants, shears, roasting spit, oak chest. According to specialist in Viking Age mortuary practices, this woman was probably ritual specialist and dealt with complex magic practices known as seiðr. Museum in Hobro offers free admission to students and PhD students in archaeology. In my opinion this Museum is worth visiting for every Viking Age passionate.

Fint sted.
Open lucht museum terug in de tijd. Heel leuk .
