These stores are ok if you know what you are doing, and not looking to do anything new. I've been in a few times now and asked about particular crafts that I'd like to have a go at. Each time I've been pointed in the general direction where I'm told, 'You'll find everything you need'. On no occasion have I found anything I'll need, and no-one who has been able to give me any sort of guidance whatsoever. They are not cheap either, but their products are pretty expensive, especially given that there is no-one who can offer you any assistance. It seems a wasted opportunity as I'd be a frequent customer if I found the staff at all helpful. On my last visit I asked if they had the things I'd need to make a start doing some decoupage, on a tissue box, some vases, and some tables that I have at home. I was expecting to purchase some sugar soap, glue/varnish, paste brushes and some patterned napkins. Plus anything else they might advise. Apart from being told I should call it decopatch, I was given no advice or help whatsoever. I also looked at wools, to make a couple of large, crochet blankets but the choice of wools was pretty dire. I could easily have spent 50-70 plus, just on this one visit, but left with absolutely nothing! No wonder customers turn to online shops like Amazon and Ebay, where you can search for specific items, read full descriptions/explanations, read reviews, and have them delivered to your door. In my experience they are definitely missing the skills and willingness to help you get started at anything. I will be very surprised if this company is still in business in a few years time.
One of the 12 makes of Christmas we went too, such good value for money and a lovely thing for the run up to Christmas. Only thing now after going to a few different ones is the organisation for set up isn't very good which starts to eat into the time you have for you make. Which if there is a group after you, you can't stay to finish the make.
Only issue is the lift not suitable for wheelchair users and carers door needs to open automatically. When I. A chair trying to pull door towards you is not really practical
Twice I have been served by an unkind and arrogant woman. I didn’t like the attitude, the tone, shee seems very unhappy to be working there. If it wasn’t for that, I would be shopping there much more often.
