Good for kids
Beautiful in bluebell season (do stick to the paths), but a welcome escape during lockdown. Lots of stick dens for young kids to find and a little shelter from the unpredictable weather. Make sure you take the route that leads you from the main roads as the country roads are quite narrow and can get flooded.b

Pleasant, well-marked and safe walks here, but very muddy and damp when we visited in early December.
Perfect place to have your daily exercise while enjoying it's lovely views
Okay so the woods are beautiful, but very creepy there only some marked tracks you're allowed to go. And we went in a season of blue bells and guess what no blue bells at all..
If you want to see breathtaking bluebell woods look no further. There are acres of these magnificent protected flowers set amid a glorious wood just emerging into leaf in Hitchwood Lane near Gosmore a charming village with two pubs near Hitchin where you can enjoy a pub lunch. There is a car park near the woods and you can enjoy walks along designated footpaths.
