One the occasion of the cultural year 2018, eleven artistic fountains were built in the eleven Frisian cities that are stops in the famous 11 city skating tournament (de Elfstedentocht). In Hindeloopen it was designed by the Chinese artist Shen Yuan and inspired by the city coat of arms (the Hinde or female deer). Quite striking and nicely located in the town.

Het is nogal een ding, deze bijdrage aan het 11Fountainsproject (van Leeuwarden Culturele hoofdstad 2018). Waar begin je te kijken en wat zie je? Wat doet die pauw daar op dat gewei? En al die andere exotische vogels? Het is meer dan een fontein, het wil een levensboom zijn (met een verwijzing naar het stadswapen van Hindeloopen). Met fantasie kun je nog een vleug Hindelooper schilderkunst ontdekken in dit werk van de Chinese Sven Yuan. En anders... ga zelf kijken en verwonder je.
