OK so I’m not having a very pleasant experience with this company applying. They say you got to take the class and get the certification, I told them I already have the certification they said that it’s OK, they say that I can’t turn in the certification until I get to the next step, they tell me there won’t be any cost except getting my agent card, They tell me to call some 800 number & and when they respond they are very rude. I will update this review once all this chaos of just applying changes. It sounds like they put you at multiple dispensaries until one hires you on, However in my state of Illinois there’s not many dispensaries hiring and not many of them are on their site. I would feel comfortable paying for the agent card if it meant that I could have a job, I don’t wanna have multiple jobs and spend all this money and not know how many hours I’m gonna get. This is more of a fill-in agency Than a actual staffing agency. It seems like it will be more help as needed; Also I don’t wanna work at a cultivation or a distribution site, if I’m going to spend all this money to work for this company I want the job I want in a dispensary

Where do I begin? I have been a part of the hiring process for several months now. The struggle has been well worth it, and patience has finally paid off. There were a lot of setbacks due to Covid-19, and it was frustrating, but the wonderful folks at Highlite have been great at keeping me informed. All they have asked for is a little patience, and in the end it paid off. I have an amazing opportunity with a fantastic company, and my journey begins along with the new year ahead. I started taking classes with Highlite last April. I took all three classes, they were very informative. Unfortunately due to Covid everything came to a stop. But thankfully, 3 weeks ago Highlite Staffing circled back around and helped me start my journey in the Cannabis Industry. I'm now a Licensed Medical Marijuana Agent for the state of Missouri (which I couldn't have done without them) and working in an amazing dispensary!!! I'm so thankful for Highlite Staffing getting me in the door to my dream job!!!! If you're considering making the move and trying to break into the industry, do it!!! I keep seeing Highlite Staffing on job-search apps. Once I looked into it, I found that your REQUIRED to take “Cannabis College” classes. The classes are 100 per course. This doesn’t even guaranteed that you’ll be hired, this is solely to apply.....A hiring company should be PAYING YOU for training, not the other way around. Upon digging around for reviews of the classes, I found a forum on Reddit with almost every review of the college being that it’s nothing special & teaches very bare minimum, common knowledge things. Long story short, this company seems to be nothing but greedy CEOs taking advantage of people who enjoy weed & are out work.
I started the process of working for Highlite in May of 2020. (Yeah smack dab in the beginning of the pandemic.) All of us were just beginning to navigate remote learning. None of us could foresee just how chaotic life would be. The state of Missouri was in the process of granting licenses and dealing with the pandemic and in short it was a mess. Despite all of the delays with the state being way behind on inspections, things started rolling slowly but surely in October. Through out the months of waiting I received updates from Christi and her staff. When Heather came on board in September things started rolling! By November I had my agent card and it was just a waiting game until a crop was ready for harvest. Finally after all the months of waiting I was part of the first staff of Highlite to work on the first legal crop of medicinal cannabis in Kansas City. It's taken a long time but it isn't the fault of Highlite. This is a new industry that is highly regulated and you can't put people to work until there is work to do. If you want to start a career in the cannabis industry without any experience you either have to know someone or get your foot in the door with Highlite. I'm super excited for the opportunities Highlite has in store for me!
