As a premise for the following review: I am stuck in England during the Covid lockdown with no passport, no work and no access to government funds. The Canadian Embassy has lost my original Birth Certificate, and passport photos, before processing my new passport. As soon as I found out that they had lost these documents, I contacted them immediately to try and see if they could be recovered, and instead of looking, instead tried to pass the blame on to me which wasted crucial time. After countless attempts to contact them, the woman I finally spoke to did not apologise or own up to the mistake and in fact refused to clarify that she had actually looked for my missing documents. During the critical time that it would have been possible to recover these documents, they instead acted with such bureaucracy that between the emails and phone calls, no one could tell me that they had even tried to look for them. She was unwilling to be helpful until I pushed her to try and help me. She has yet to email me a follow-up email on the next steps I must take because of their carelessness. This is quite literally my hour of need. The very embassy who I desperately needed help from are the very people who have made my situation infinitely worse.

Lovely grand greek revival building, great location on Trafalgar square... Current home to Canada's diplomatic mission in Britain since 1925... The government of Quebec also has an office at 59 Pall mall.
Huge building as central as it gets with friendly accommodating staff.
