Owner's son was a pleasure as he made his rounds and chatted with me. I've never had Puerto Rican food but it was really good. I told him to serve me what he thought was best and brought out a great appetizer which was fried cheese with fried plantains and a verde type dipping sauce, creamy. Topped with torizo. I tried the Mofongo which was excellent it came with garlic butter shrimp and a rice side complimented with a broth to moisten the Mofongo and dish itself. Waitresses were not as attentive as I like but I think because of covid and the language barrier that they assumed I was fine. Overall, good experience, homey atmosphere, and this spot beats chain restaurants as it is always good to support local cuisine. Much love.

Covid-19 Review: Boricuas in the house! If you are looking for a great tasting meal without breaking the bank - this is your place. Hubs and I have eaten dinner here before and had some bangin' arroz con gandules but today we stopped by for some breakfast. As you walk in through the front door, you are immediately greeted by table service to the left, the kitchen in front of you and the to-go cash register and. bathroom area to the right. We were happy to see El Riconcito put their employees and patrons first by installing plexiglass by the registers, hanging signs for social distancing and offering a spacious waiting area for the bathrooms. Simple food was all I wanted so I ordered the Egg Omlet with cheese and veggies - complete with 2 sides, pan tostada and cafe for under 7. Hubs on the other hand, was starving and went with the Steak and eggs con papa fritas, pan tostada and cafe for under 9 - and let me tell you .... he LOVED it! Great portions and flavor for the price.

Good latin food. I tried the Mofongo with camarones enchilados and it was great! Also have Piña Colada sin Alcohol, and tasted amazing!

Best Puerto Rican food in Hialeah and possibly Miami. Best mofongo hands down. Staff is always friendly and accommodating.
