Aquatots has helped my daughter with her fear of water and she enjoys swimming now. I'm happy she's learning this essential skill for water safety. All the coaches are super friendly and give helpful feedback. The front desk is very helpful with make ups and other questions. Wisteria helped us switch class days and my child is very happy with the new schedule. The only thing I wish was different was the make up accrual policy. I rather have tuition prorated when the class is cancelled. We have so many that I'm not sure we'll be able to use them all. Overall, we're super happy with our experience there.

When I first began my search for a swimming program that could meet the needs of both of my autistic children I reached out to SwimRVA, because they specialized in teaching autistic kids how to swim. To my dismay they informed me that due to the popularity of this particular program, that they most they could do was to put my children on a waiting list that could possibly span for 1 to 2 years. So I contacted Aqua Tots on a whim after seeing their advertisement for a free intro lesson, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Before enrollment bath time with my 5 year old always filled me with dread, because he would have a complete meltdown everytime I washed his hair. At his very first lesson the instructor had my son go underwater multiple times, and to my amazement there were no tears or temper tantrums. With each lesson I noticed that my usual hyperactive child who struggled with social interactions, was calmer and more interactive with his peers. Everyone from the instructors, to the supervisors, and even the front desk associates are awesome. Their patience and passion when working with kids is everything a parent could dream of. When my youngest son started his lessons it was more of a challenge. He is nonverbal with developmental delays and sickle cell anemia. He cried at every lesson for the first few months, and I was so discouraged and repeatedly considered removing him from his lessons. But despite that, all of the instructors were always patient and understanding with him. Their persistence during his lessons showcased that he could do a lot more than I thought him capable of.

My son hates to put his head underwater and wants only to play. At Aquatots the staff are kind and playful as well as firm and consistent. They obviously know the importance of the skill they are teaching these little kids. It is so reassuring to see my kids get more comfortable in the water. Other swim lessons could not get them to this point. I highly recommend Aquatots for teaching kids to swim.
