Place was run to the ground by previous owner, however new owner is trying to turn it around. Certainly wasn't as I remembered it as a child but Luke the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the tour was worth it. No cameras, lighters, electrical items or bags allowed in the mine. Also suitable footwear needed.
What a wonderful place to visit! Amazing underground tour which took us approx 200 feet down into the old mine! Great tour guide also. All the staff are top notch. David’s a great character! Essential to keep these places of historical importance open! So worth a visit...
If you have an interest in Cornish history then you need a great mine tour, and Poldark Mine is the place to go to when the weather above ground is less than fabulous. Be aware to check tour availability before you go, also is a tad pricey, although our own Prince Charles should accept some responsibility for that!
