We tried Chicken soup, Cheese kebab and moose cake. We didn't find the food tasty except the cake. May be because we like spicy food. Also, this is not a place for vegetarians.

From all the restaurants I've visited in Helen you MUST try this place! This is.my second time here. Their fried cheese appetizer is awesome. Goulash and cordon blue were well made and portions are generous. The potatoes they serve as a side are thin sliced and cooked to perfection!. Sauerkraut is also delicious (if you like it of course) and we tried in total 7 main dishes and were all great. Soft ice creams and strudel were savory as well. The attention was the best. You won't regret coming here!!!
Oh my WORD this place is so worth it! I got brunch and my husband got lunch, and we both thoroughly enjoyed every bite of food! The cook and the owner both took the time to come chat with us to see how we liked everything. The wait staff was friendly and quick! We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Helen!
Really disappointed. Came today for lunch and we were seated immediately. Server was friendly but waited 20 minutes after we ordered to tell us the kitchen was backed up and then never returned. (This is a very small restaurant so it was hard to imagine why as there are about 4 other tables in the entire place). We waited another 20 minutes to receive food I would hardly call “German”. It was fine and hot but lacked flavor and the potato salad was a Mayo base, not vinegar as one would expect. Waited a while after we finished to get our check and eventually had to flag someone down from the kitchen. There are so many great restaurants in Helen, definitely try those before coming here.
Recommend this place 100%! Absolutely delicious! The Bratwurst and sauerkraut were so flavorful and the massive serving of fries were great. The fries were perfectly crispy and some of the best fries we’ve had. My wife loved the fried cheese sandwich and ordered it with a side of Goulash and loved that too!
