Nice and small museum, a very good impression of what was Heerlen during the Roman Times. The presentation of 12 minutes is really well done, worth to see it. And the soap bars they sell smell just delicious!

Great place to visit if you want to learn more on the history of the Romans in the Netherlands, also with younger kids (minimum age 4). Children receive a coin which looks like the one dug up at the scene (which is a nice way to get them interested in the collected artifacts behind glass). The visualisation of the fire pit and swimming pool made the museum come to live. Several video/interactive touch screens also help understand the live of people in that time period.
Interesting museum centered around the remains of an old roman bathhouse. Good multimediatour.
If you like Roman history, as I do, this is a place you need to visit. You need to see it in perspective of Roman remains in The Netherlands. There are not so many “complete” remains like in other countries. The museum is well made and gives a good overview of this large-scale bathhouse.
Very nice museum. Very special interest, nice and cheap souvenirs.
Super museum, lovely, enthusiastic, helpful staff. Amazing remains, complete floors and underfloors, showing exactly how a bath house used to look like. Fab experience. Must visit. Great counterpart to Archeon and Rijksmuseum voor Oudheden.
A hidden gem! Fascinating and beautifully displayed museum on local Roman history.
This museum has is located in the centre of the town and has on display on of the largest Roman bath complexes I have ever seen. There is a raised walkway or bridge inside which allows you to look down on the remains of the different bathing rooms. At the end of the walkway is a room displaying various artifacts discovered by the archaeologists in the local area, including a large stone sarcophagus with amazing interior carvings. Downstairs is a display room contrasting modern and ancient cultures. There is also an educational area worth exploring, if you have children or s curious mind. Parking is possible very close by at the Q Park.
