My daughter used to be absolutely terrified of even putting her head under the water, but went from that to loving it! She couldn't wait for her swimming lessons here. It's such a lovely warm pool with small groups, and her teacher has been amazing. Couldn't recommend enough!

A great swim school in a private setting. Swimming instructors work with children of all ages and abilities in a supportive and encouraging manner. My child has made tremendous progress since joining over a year ago. Would happily recommend.
Both my daughters have weekly swimming lessons at Sussex Swim School and have progressed well. My youngest daughter has gone from being a non swimmer to being able to swim after a few terms of individual lessons. The school is easy to deal with and responds quickly to emails and requests. Would definitely recommend!
A good size pool for young children, which is warm so that they don't get cold waiting for their turn and when listening to the instructor. The instructor gets in the pool with them and goes through swimming techniques with each child, making sure they understand, practise and progress. My son was fortunate enough to have Ben as his instructor, who is great at building a child's confidence in the water by creating a bond with each child, which means they trust him and try new things or things that they are frightened about doing. My son started when he was four and has really enjoyed his lessons saying 'I like Ben because he makes the lesson fun'.
My family have been with the school now for 6 years having sent all 4 of our kids to learn to swim under the skillful tutelage of Hilary and her fellow teachers. Our eldest 2 (now 15 and 11) elected to move on once they reached secondary school but both had progressed very well from complete beginners to level 6 competent and (had they wanted to) potentially competitive swimmers. Our toddlers (3 and 1) have both been swimming since 6 months old and are both very confident in the water. Our 3 year old is even swimming by herself now under close supervision! All the teachers are very personable and brilliant with the kids of all ages. We highly recommend The Sussex Swim School to look after and nurture your little ones while also teaching them a vital life skill that will bring them joy and health for the rest of their lives. It could even save their life one day!
