Still open but check closing times at present Jan 2021..great garden, centre gift shopping,huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants ....and some...great place to take kids with Christmas display every year.lots of parking restaurant on normal occasions and a farm store..
This is my very local garden centre. The centre is very clean and newly extended. The staff are cheerful and helpful. I have not used their restaurant as it was forced to shut again due to COVID 19. They do seem to have created a safe environment for customers to shop in. I have a Notcutts loyalty card which affords me 10% discount on everything even sale prices. That is the commendable bit. I recently bought dahlias from 2 other local garden centres. Buying from a few different nurseries gives me some varieties that others don't stock. The price of one tuber was 2.99 from the other nurseries However when I ventured into Notcutts the price was hiked up to - 4.99 for in many cases exactly the same item and supplier. 2 more!!! Notcutts had an “offer” of x3 packs of 4.99 bulbs for 12. ....Which still made the packs 4.00 each. Then with 10% off from my loyalty card the price was reduced to 10.80. Bearing in mind I had to buy the dahlias in units of three to make the saving (I only really wanted 2 varieties). Despite all of Notcutts so called offers the dahlias were still 1 83 dearer than elsewhere for three packs. I would rather Notcutts sold thes packs at 2.99 and forget deals and loyalty cards. At least it would feel more honest. I think we as shoppers are all pretty savvy of the fact retailers often load the price of items to off set any offered reductions such as loyalty cards and we often think ..well fair enough, its saved me a journey further afield etc. However this really smacked of just down right overpriced. This is very disappointing and has made me feel I ought to shop elsewhere rather than be drawn into artificial pricing fiasco.
Fantastic garden centre. Lovely restaurant. Hardworking staff and extremely helpful. Perfect for a day out.
Really nice selection of plants and loved their Christmas displays. Staff very professional and friendly, keeping us safe with their Covid procedures. Will definitely go back and grab a few more decorations.
