Was alright until they gave us uncooked chips, took them straight back only to be argued with and another woman come through from the back and put her hands in the chips and tell me there was nothing wrong. No customer service what so ever. Want a proper chippy? Go to willows
Harry's Haddock on Lord street Grimsby is a really nice local fish and chips takeaway.Its a nice clean and well lit small shop with welcoming and friendly staff. The menu has all the traditional chip shop staples including, Cod roe and Skate. I had a short wait as the fish is cooked too order here. The wheelchair accessibility isn't great, due to a step in the doorway and the door is quite narrow, but I think access is still achievable. Parking is limited to Lord street and the side streets.I took my meal away wrapped today. I believe that it's cash only here. They have a 5***** food hygiene rating. Food review Nov 2018. I went for Haddock, chips, peas and a portion of Cod roe. The chips were good and crispy, the peas from here were a little thin in consistency but tasted good.The fish wasn't huge but it was nice,good thick pure white flaky with a nice thin crispy batter and wait for it.....Absolutely full of flavour and delicious..Another thing worth mentioning was it wrapped up in paper and then put in paper bag not a plastic one. Price wise, very competitive at 6.65 for everything ( the cod roe was 1.10 ) a good quality meal.I would happily recommend this good little local chippy that serves up good quality food at reasonable prices. Paid another visit today,I opted for a small Haddock and chips to go, fast friendly service, the quality of the fish is still as good as my first visit, decent crispy chips,the portion was a little small but still reasonably priced at 3.30.Good little Chippy in this area of Grimsby.
