I bought four lots. Rang for condition reports to be told they were all perfect. I bought them whilst on holiday and asked if it would be ok to pay upon my return (5days later), to which I was told was no problem. They rang me twice for payment whilst on holiday. I paid with my card the day I came back and collected the next week. When I collected, two of the items were damaged, one of them quite badly. I mention this to the two reception staff who both agreed they were damaged and the damage should have been pointed out but that they could not do anything. So I asked to speak to the manager. A lady came down and said all auction lots are SOLD AS SEEN. I tried to explain to her that I'd been told over the phone that they were all perfect but she simply did not care. I then asked as a gesture of good will if they would wave the commission on the two damaged lots but I was told that they wouldn't be giving me anything back. The two ladies in reception were really nice and well mannered. The lady who came down to sort out the problem was HORRIBLE with NO MANNERS and not an asset to this company. I WILL NEVER BID AT THIS AUCTION AGAIN. AND STRONGLY ADVISE OTHERS NOT TO USE THIS AUCTION HOUSE. There are plentry of other good auction houses close to Harrogate. This auction house just wants your money and I'm not surprised they have so many bad reviews
