Usually find this shop fantastic. However this time we had an awful experience. We got greeted and let in the shop after a que system outside by an assistant. Walked in and had a different shop assistant shout at us in such an attitude tone 'you need a mask to be in here'. We understand the current times, however masks are not suitable for everyone. In particular someone who is deaf and relies on lip reading suddenly feels very isolated when faced with everyone in a mask. Not the shops fault, however some courteous service and manners when speaking to customers would be appreciated. And then as you walk in the shop there is three aisles. All aisles with a one way system. All pointing the same way? What if I wanted to walk up another aisle. Do i have to go to the end of the shop, round the street and back in?? With the attitude already received from the staff member I wasn't comfortable going up the other aisles. Finally as we went to pay for items. We then got bellowed at again to leave the shop through the one way system, taking us completely out of our way. I understand this our very uncertain times, and have a great deal of respect for shop assistants, however I feel sometimes common sense and manners should still be used.

Great traditional hardware store. Very knowledgable staff who are keen to help. You might never find what you want but they know exactly where it is! Everything from wicker baskets to garden gloves and hinges. Worth a pop in to find those things you didn’t know you needed!

Exciting moments hunting for a milk pan! The atmosphere was electric. Excellent service as always, wouldn't buy a milk pan from anywhere else.
