Cosy village pub. Beer well kept, though a little more food-oriented than I personally prefer- you can feel a bit of an exception if you just want a drink. Last time I ate there, food was good though.

Arriving alone after a long day cycling I popped in here while waiting for the youth hostel over the road to open. Little did I know just how much this place would go to my heart. Immediately the landlady's big smile and welcome made me feel welcome. I was instantly made to feel like a local. Nothing too much trouble. The cask beer is in outstanding form. Later that evening I returned for Pork Loin and black pudding covered in bacon wow!!. It was that good I returned for a hearty breakfast and on the Friday night, an incredible fish Friday deal. Oh and on one night, there was a brass band playing! Everything is very reasonably priced and of a high standard. Great staff, great old building. A must visit.
Normally a wonderful pub with.brilliant food sadly like other places in the area closed due to Covid19 restrictions
Visited for a short break on recommendation from a friend and very glad I did! Great atmosphere with really friendly & helpful staff & customers. Already looking forward to returning in the future.
Cosy pub with log fire and overnight accommodation. Fantastic food, large servings and good wines. Very friendly atmosphere. Socially distanced tables with the usual hand sanitizers on entry. Table service only.
