Located in the very heart of Harderwijk, hotel Marktzicht is beautiful and very fresh. The only thing I was missing was a shower curtain in the bathroom. I really liked their environmental suggestion that you put the towels you want changed on the floor and hang up the ones you want to keep and are still clean. Friendly staff, even though I didn't really need their help.

Pro: - quite central in town - really nice town and nice small roads and cafes - there is a park close Contra: - very very small rooms, see pictures - tiny bathroom, even Harry Potter would feel claustrophobic - not really clean or I don't know why there are yellow parts of the wall in the shower - I heard every door which was shut, which was so annoying as I had to wake up early - the stairs to the rooms are a pain with luggage, no elevator or anything. - It is summer and it is very hot outside. I was looking forward to a cooler room. The problem is there is just no AC!!! I mean it is cheap, but I've been to other cheap hotels with AC, this is just ridiculous - the so called parking lot is a 3 min walk from a nearby park house. Parking costs 6 . Breakfast was ok, but not very big choice. And it costs 10 Euro. All in all, never ever again. There is no circumstance which makes me wanna see that hotel again, not even the nice town. Just a hint, don't ever come here by car, this is a pure bike town. And before come to the hotel, call them for advise where the parking lots are. 1 Star is for the nice and helpful lady at the reception.
The staff is very, very kind and polite! I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I gave only 4 and not 5 stars, because of the heat in the rooms... Even using the fan, I had some problems with my sleep in the night, when I had a room in the last floor. The rooms are small, as some people say, but I used to stay in several rooms and they are enough big on my opinion. You don't stay in the hotel for dancing and working out, don't you? :D
Loved this little hotel overlooking the market in Harderwijk. The room had everything we needed and even though you’re right on the square we had a peaceful nights sleep!
To hard to explane..... Dont go here... and if you go, expect the worst, so you wont BE disapointed...
Simple food, rather expensive and attempt to be "Michelin" aspired completely misses any foundation apart from the flowers and herbs sticking out everything, low quality vegetarian meals (prefab quiche and burger?) and uninspiring deserts (just the taste of cream) Staff was unable to properly react to feedback: "It's probably your taste" and was trying to laugh away the fact that they threw the scraps of another table over one of the guests.
