Very disappointed tonight, the food actually tasted good so how come only 2 stars.... First of all I rang to find out how long the food would take to cook once ordered because we were in a rush and we were told 5-6 minutes from order. Perfect. 5 minutes later I walked in and ordered the sea food selection sharer with mushy peas. 25 MINUTES later my number was called (79 for your reference) this is obviously unacceptable after your original estimate. We arrived home to find that there was hardly enough chips for 1 let alone 2. Maybe a portion was missed out of the bag? The fish although very tasty was again the smallest cod we had ever seen. The menu stated that there were dips included and these were also missed off. To top it off there was a small piece of plastic in the mushy peas. Of course you were busy being a Saturday night but none of this is acceptable - not even the waiting time as you quoted the expected time less than 5 minutes before I arrived. If this was not an outright lie to gain our business I would love to know what excuse you have for this huge mistake?

Fantastic vegetarian options and delicious tasting food. Great service and nice music. We also ordered the curry sauce which we found tasty.
Would give it 6 stars if I could. Best fish 'n chips I've had in a while. Friendly staff, not too expensive considering the location. The little sweet potato flakes on the fish were unreal. Highly recommend
Ate here for a third time this holiday. I had always liked the meals, though never sure of the sweet potato crisps. This time around though they’d run out of mussels. Instead I added ‘squid’ or was it ‘calamari’ to my fish and chips meal. OMG - think M&S Potato Sticks - an absolute disgrace. Straight out the freezer and as far from fresh fish, squid flavour or texture as you can get. Avoid this at all costs. Shocking. I was fuming. The fish and chips were decent enough and a nice portion but can have far better from two takeaways here in Portishead. Average. Will try somewhere else next time.
For a sit down meal of fish and chips on the sea front at St Ives for 10 it was lovely! Portion sizes weren't huge but we all enjoyed the meal. The curry sauce on the other hand was vile!
