A Ploughman's is my acid test of an honest pub. The Hampden Arms Ploughman's was very good and passed with flying colours. A generous hunk of rustic bread with 3 cheeses (3!), pickled onion, piccalilli AND Branston, little tomatoes, interesting leaves, a very tasty homemade coleslaw and a side of chopped black & green olives. The Grover's cider is one of the best ciders I've ever had! The Chiltern Beechwood bitter was also excellent. All enjoyed on a sunny day in their beer garden.

Wanted to try this place for ages, and it's certainly worth it. The food is very good, I went for a ploughman's and it was excellent, I couldn't finish it! The staff are very friendly, there's a large garden and a good menu. Try it.
A very pleasant evening spent in a pub with great service from the staff a genuine welcome from the owners. Nice atmosphere comfortable seating and great beer reasonably priced. Didn't eat but the food looked very good with generous portions. A fine looking menu again very reasonable prices. Hope to return soon. Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. Food was great and reasonably priced. We had the rib eye steak, burger and chips and two ploughman's lunches followed by tiramisu. All delicious.
May as well have had a vegetarian meal. The lamb was more fat and splintered bone than meat
