Fourth visit here and it's our all time favourite fine dining experience. Grazing menu is inventive but not too out there- a marriage of great flavours and beautifully dressed plates. Staff are friendly, welcoming but not overbearing. We always feel happy, relaxed and fully satisfied when we leave. Excellent value for money too. Highly recommend over and above a number of other fine dining restaurants. Took our friends last night and they agreed wholeheartedly and will be bringing their family and friends too. Keep doing what you're doing Hammer and Pincer as it works!

Superb food. I cannot rate this place high enough. Not cheap but more than worth treating yourself for the quality and presentation of the food. Locally sourced fresh products. Very imaginative menu, their complimentary artisan breads are to die for. Very knowledgeable and welcoming staff.
Gorgeous tasting menu on a Friday evening. Started with the most delicious bread basket I’ve ever tasted and other highlights included the cucumber sorbet, beef so soft it melted in the mouth, and inventive celeriac “risotto” topped with truffle. The wine pairings were excellent and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. This was our second visit (first in 2017) and even better than I remembered!
Perfect meal (grazing menu 7 course) with matching wine. Service was very friendly and wait staff knowledgeable. The food itself was fantastic with a great balance of flavour and attention to detail , we had a standard as well as a vegetarian option and both were equally great
I can’t fault the Hammer and Pincers. The food they have created for take out is absolutely sublime. The dishes are all extremely well thought out and the flavors marry so well. We’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere they have created over the years with excellent food and service and they have managed to create something very similar with a take out service. A personal service like no other. Looking for something a bit special, look no further.
