Owner is a quite a sassy pants. He knows his comics but he’s condescending for no given reason. He also really needs to start wearing a better cologne. None the less, the spot is a good area to find some back issues and get the latest comics. I’ll stick with Big B on Upper James but it’s a good spot to find some back issues.

Owners attitude can come off as gruff or grumpy but he is very nice! I call ahead for back issues and he pulls them all out for me. The best part... There are always discounts on back issues. 50% off. You cannot beat that price. I used to spend 100s on back issues. Now I always come here 1st.
This is definitely my favourite place to go to Magic tournaments. The people who go there are a pretty nice bunch and aren't too serious. Some of the other locations are a bit more competitive or stuffed, so it's nice to actually be able to converse with other humans every once in a while (weird, right?). Julie is one of the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet. If you're a fan of... well, anything, she'll either love to talk about it, or love to hear about it. Bless her soul. The only criticism I could give is they don't take debit/credit. This is fine when looking for a few inexpensive comics or Magic singles, but some of the time, you just don't have 120 on hand for a booster box. There are a few banks around and an ATM at the convenience store across the street, but it is a small inconvenience that might turn some people away.
When you see lifelong customers start bringing their kids and watch both of their enjoyment, you know that you've found a special place.
I called this shop looking for an issue that my regular shop was sold out of. The woman on the phone was very friendly and searched high and low for the issue. From my end of the phone she really seemed to be going out of her way to find the issue for me, and when she couldn't find it she eagerly offered to order it for me. Her great demeanour and persistence stand out in my mind, and I fully recommend you check out their location. Great staff!
Nice store. A friend of mine and I used to buy comic books there as young college kids. I still go in a couple of times a year. Brings back great memories.
With regard to trading cards, they have very little stock of singles and sealed products. Booster box prices are marked up by up to 10 compared to other stores in the area, such as breakaway. The owner is rude to regular customers, charges a 5 fee for players just looking to trade and spend time with their friends, and regularly yells at his employees. Unfortunately, this store has fallen below a reasonable standard, and I would recommend visiting a different store for your trading card needs.
Absolutely terrible service. My girlfriend and I pre-purchased a set of MTG Commander 2017 decks for 160, and the decks were not available on the day we were told to come pick them up. After being told to "come back later in the week" and "by next Monday they should be here", for almost a month, we decided to cancel our purchase and get a refund. When my girlfriend called to cancel the owner was extremely disrespectful to her over the phone, and when I went to the store in person to get our money back I was told that they couldn't refund me that day and to come back again. By this point I had spent more on bus fare than I would have saved on their "deal" for ordering the decks as a set. The next time I visited I was only refunded half of the money I had put down initially, and was told to come back again for the rest. When I came back I was told that I couldn't be refunded because the owner was not there. They asked for my phone number and said I would be contacted. A month has passed and I haven't heard a word from them, and my girlfriend and I are still owed 80. Luckily we were able to find the decks through some larger retailers. I want to help support local small businesses, but with service like this it's not hard to see why they aren't able to compete. Save your time and take your business elsewhere.
