HomeCompany is charging us for two shower heads, claiming their cleaners couldn't clean off the (tapwater) lime. We didn't even use one of the two shower heads, and the other one my partner decalcified every week except the last. This is the 2nd reisewohnung we've had in 3 years of living here. This one looks nice, but didn't include cups (!) or a single roll of toilet paper or cleaning products -- not exactly prepped for travellers. The HomeCompany lady tried to convince us all reisewohnungen were like that. The apartment had lots of renovation dust and paint chips, screws, a dead insect on the bed (on the sheet, under the covers), and a power drill when we arrived. The shower never drained. We bought all cleaning supplies and I left it cleaner than we received it. At the end of our 3 months, the HomeCompany lady who made final checks expressed shock herself at the weak power (we couldn't turn lights on in more than one room, because even the fridge makes the lights flicker/shut off) and \This is the tiniest shower I've ever seen!\ -- the shower and toilet barely fit one person each. HomeCompany did not address the above problems when we emailed/called during our stay.

My experience with HomeCompany as an expat has been terrific. I have rented twice with them and they are extremely professional and expat-friendly! My German are basic so it was a stress reliever that I could communicate everything with English and by email. If you are looking for a short term rental in Hamburg look no further!

I came to work in Hamburg for 3 months during Covid-19, and was staying in an expensive apartment hotel with poor cooking facilities. I was searching everyday online to find a place that would also be suitable for me to be collected to go to work. I came across the home company website and was impressed by it's ease of use, other sites were poor and difficult to navigate.i called the telephone number and got through to Jennifer Mund. Her English was fantastic, which was great because my German is terrible. She was so pleasant and helpful and essentially found me a beautiful apartment in the most perfect and ideal location with all the facilities I was looking for. I was so stressed before making this call but when I spoke to Jennifer, she was so empathetic and helpful. If it wasn't for her, I may have been stuck in an expensive hotel...she truly is the home companies greatest asset. Thanks Jennifer
